When looking for a place to rent in Melbourne, do you think it's important to only look at places that have air con? Or can you get by without it during the summer?

Cheers,

Stu

Hi Im about 1hr 45 from melbourne and we wouldnt suggest properties without aircon. We are fortunate to have the four seasons in victoria  but although this year not been as hot, usually need the aircon when in the house. Do have ceiling fans in the bedroom and they are on at nite and manage OK.

Depends if it's a new build or an old one; old ones are generally designed with higher ceilings and breezeways (you can open both ends of the house to catch the prevailing breeze). New builds generally are put up with no thought to the surrounds and are way warmer.

You don't have much humidity in Melb so fans are quite effective.
