Guest Jamie Hunter
Hello Everybody... We're (me, wife and 4 year old daughter) looking at Kallangur as one option to move to in June form the UK. Looking at some rental properties on Realestate.com.au you seem to get more for your $ compared to Redcliffe / Woody Point which we are also looking at. Any tips or suggestions about areas to look at renting in Kallangur oh and what about the internet? Do you get it everywhere cause we've heard how North Lakes have internet issues!!! What about mozzies at night and those cane toads folks have been mentioning (do they taste nice on the barbie??) Oh and cant forget shopping - many shops and restaurants / carry outs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Jamie
Guest Janeloz
Hi Jamie We arrived from the UK 10 months ago and have settled in Narangba which is about 10 mins from Kallangur. We really like it here and rentals here are reasonable. They have some good schools for when your daughter starts and we think the area is really friendly and safe. Definitely worth checking out, Jane

We lived there for 5 years..but yes the industrial estate and the potential for further accidents was certainly a concern to us Tanya.

If looking at North lakes go to Mango Hill side, some nice places in there and not as tacky as Little britain

Guest Nickc278
I'm in Redcliffe and love it - you probably would be happy in either place and as others have said North Lakes and Mango Hill are also worth a look. Nick

Guest Jamie Hunter
 This time 4 weeks we'll be at the airport about to board. Dublin to Heathrow to Singapore to Brisbane on the 9th. Staying at a Holiday Village for first month whilst waiting for house sale to complete and time to hunt down a more permanent rental in Bracken Ridge. Decided Redcliffe is just too far to travel to work every day in CBD for wife.

The "Laura Ashley" of housing estates. All laid out, everything on hand, but atm, a bugger to get out of at commute times but they will be putting a new exit in, eventually.........they'll have to. When they first started on it, we nearly bought there, it was cheap and decent plots, but looking deeper, we could see that it would eventually become a "city unto itself" and that wasn't for us. Since then, it's got dearer and dearer, the commute longer, and the plots smaller...............it's hard to find a decent plot where you aren't sat on top of your neighbour. One shunt on the Bruce highway and it can take you 3 hrs to get home from the city. Public Holiday weekends, the Friday commute home is a nightmare with long weekenders heading up the coast You can get more for your money closer in. Slightly older homes but bigger plots and easier commute. Personally, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole but many love it. good Luck kev
