Guest old pom
I was too busy yesterday to catch up with the news and it was only after having dinner with my wife and 2 of our sons, that I caught the late bulletin and saw the awful news about little Rhys Jones being shot. I felt sick. The footage showed his parents visiting the scene of the shooting along with his little mates in their football colours laying flowers at what I imagine has become a makeshift memorial. I can almost hear the hand wringing, finger pointing and political point scoring that I'm sure is going on right now. But at the end of the day, a little life has been lost and a family devastated. One newspaper report this morning said the police are looking for a lad aged 13-14. This means that just 2-3 years ago the suspected killer was the same age as Rhys and probably innocent then too. One wonders what could have happened to him in the last few years to make him want to do such a thing.
ErmintrudeMcMoo
It was very hard watching the grief on that poor womans face, certainly puts your life in perspective.
