theworm 18 Posted December 20, 2012 oh - so sad for FS folks with checks over, Med done DIAC hinted it already a few weeks back though, only SKILLSELECT FS 489 will be considered ****************************************************** Allocation and Processing of Skilled Australian Sponsored GSM Visa Applications As at November 2012, the Skilled Australian Sponsored GSM category has a limited number of visa places remaining. In accordance with the Migration Program planning level and the priority arrangements, remaining visa places will be used for decisions on Skilled Regional subclass 489 applications which are family sponsored and other Skilled Australian Sponsored GSM applications currently in the final stages of processing. As they did Before they might add some additional quota in current year as 6 months are still to go for next yr quota allocation. Dont worry, we all will get grants soon. I concur with shawais' opinion. 176 FS Visa quota has reportedly depleted now, giving rise to delays for these applicants, but hopefully this will not redound to their detriment as DIAC may move some visas from Indy quota to 176 FS quota shortly. usernameuser 10 Posted December 21, 2012 Hi Guys, This is for your info as some of you might have been experiencing what I have experienced and experiencing. Hope this might help some. I asked for an update on the status of my 885 visa application on the 6th dec, 2012. On the 11th I was asked to re-submit FORM-80 as well as take the medical exam. I sent an email to my CO on the 12th Dec, 2012 with some queries and did not receive a reply. So, I thought okay maybe he wants me to think for myself (he sometimes does that as he has a sense of humor) so I sent a new form 80 on the 15th Dec, 2012 and had some queries also and again no reply. As my CO is very efficient (replies the same day within an hour even), I called DIAC adelaide on 20th Dec, 2012 just to see whats happening as usually my CO even lets me know when he is going on holidays. To my surprise, the lady said that they have not received any emails from me since the 6th Dec, 2012. I sent another email on the 20th Dec, 2012. As opposed to my previous to email after the 11th Dec, 2012, I did not get a system generated reply. I call again today and another lady advised that they did not receive that one either and asked if I got a system generated auto reply. I advised no to which she advised that the Adelaide office is experiencing issues with their mail server and perhaps my email is being being blocked. I was also advised that I have a new CO (yesterday the lady on the phone forgot to mention that to me what a surprise!). They have escalated my case to fix the email issues as well as informed the case officer team manager. Again, I can not stress upon the fact of sending an occasional status update to your CO to ensure that everything is alright. If I hadn't done so, then the 28 days time period given to me for fulfilling DIAC's request would have passed even though I would have presented all the documents. SMShoaib 10 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) Family Sponsored Quota I am following the issue for quite a time and have done some work to conclude that the quota of family sponsored visa, in 2012-2013, is expected to increase from 4200 in the next 2-4 months; as happened in the 2011-2012. There are reasons to said this: Currently DIAC is sending around 3000 invitation per month while they are receiving less than 3000 EOI (60 points or more) per month. As on 3 Dec 2012, the EOI submitted till 10 Nov. 2012 (with 60 points) got the invitation. So currently there is only 27 days backlog. Where as 1 month ago, this backlog was about 2.5 months. If DIAC continue to issue 3000 invitation/month then in the next 1 to 2 months, this 27 days backlog will reduce to 0 and they don't have enough EOIs to send invitation. At that time DIAC may consider to change allocation quota by reducing 189/190 and increasing FS. Almost all the applications of 175/176 have got their visas excluding VHR countries (which, I believe can not be more than 10% of overall allocation) So they will sill have plenty of visas to issue. In worst case scenario, if DIAC do not increase FS visa quota in 2012-2013 then in 2013-14 quota all the people will get grants (in July August) as they have passed the lengthy security process. So people stay tight and hope for the best. Arshad 40 Posted December 21, 2012 Official link of last year stat here FS176/886 got a bit lucky later in the year, number went up from 4.1k to 11.8k - thanks to 175/885 number reduced from 44k to 37.7k By analysing these figures of last year, I believe FS group will start around April 2013 and they should reach at least 10,000 visas. Last year 37772 visas were issued in the Skilled independent class and this year they have been given 45550 visas. State/territory sponsored were 22247 and this year they have 24650 places. If we look at only these two figures we find an increase in the official number of places allocated to these two classes, which is 7778 + 2403 = 10181 places. We know that the Skill Select system is not moving as fast as was feared so they JUST might not be able to issue the required number of visas in these classes and the leftover places will hopefully, in fact surely, go to Family Sponsored, and a safe guess should be around an increase of 8000 to 10000 more places. All FS in priority 4 and above will get grants this financial year and from priority 5 they should cover from 2007 to somewhere in 2009 and onshore group will move faster than offshore applicants. We need to just sit tight and wait, and with the holiday season started, it’s going to be some dull weeks ahead.
