We,ve been in Helensvale on the Gold Coast now for nearly 6-months now and we,re all starting to really embrace everything Aus has to offer us Poms! Especially the weather(34-degs on car temp gauge at 5pm!!! whilst visiting Hungry Jacks)and that was on a slightly overcast day too!! But must admit the weather has been very mixed espeically with all the storms we,ve been having in and around Brissie of late.I work just south of Brisbane and commute 130-k round trip during the week leaving here at 5am and go through some amazing weather fronts on the M1-motorway(one minute bone dry,next minute almost cyclonic,then back to bone-dry!!!) But I would,nt swop Helensvale for Derby(UK) in a million years and wished me and my family had come over years ago!!
