Linday
In order to answer your query you would need to give a bit more information. I am just a little confused by your post in that you say you are a permanent resident but that you can get a 'working visa' Which visa are you referring to? Also, how old is your son and do you have any other family in the UK? You would maybe be able to sponsor your son on a 176 family sponsored visa, but your son would need to have an occupation on the Skilled Occupations List. It might be possible to sponsor him on a Remaining Relative visa but he would need to have no other family in the UK. RRVs are taking a long time to process now, years I understand. It is possible to apply for the RRV in Australia, but if your son came over on a visitor visa he would be granted a bridging visa until the RRV is granted and he would not be able to work. Alternatively, if he has a skill on the SOL he could maybe get sponsored on a 457 temporary work visa which would allow him to stay in Australia for 4 years while he waited for the RRV to be processed. Pumpkin
Opportunities are limited for people without a trade. In this case I would recommend the working holiday visa and take it from there, but be aware he may well need to return to UK at the end of it. If he does some specific work he could get a second working holiday visa.
