Guest katie007
We have a candidate lodged 22nd July 2012 and still waiting for Interview. (1st Class Welder) Sad point is, he has a Placement and very soon the Employer will opt for another Candidate as when positions come open they like to have them filled within 6-weeks not months. Vetassess / TRA and Now VU all have a rather long waiting list, all due to the laws alterations back on July 1st, in some cases on Vetassess and they even confirm the waiting list now is around 8/12 weeks with some applications going thought faster if all information is in place. Most applicants pre July 1st, and the thought of after this date the new EOI made their assessments, even Migration Agents are at logger heads with the longer than expected timeline, like all, this will catch up and come into the old ways of 3/5 weeks. Hi, I am worried that going through all my qualifications might take a while, as I have two different Master degrees and I have additionally included my BSc. I applied online, but I needed some time to certify all documents and to post them to Melbourne (from Germany). The invoice for the payment come within a few days after submitting an online application:)

srg73
A masters has no greater strength than a BSc or BA so far as any visa application is concerned. A Phd does earn additional points. My experience is that the application is strongest with good qualifications backed with solid work experience in your chosen field. Although slightly older, I have BSc (Hons) with 15 years continuous experience in the field. My post graduate qualifications including becoming chartered have not been considered at any stage although should hopefully help in securing good work. YankDownUnder
Occupation: ANZSCO Skill Level 1 - White collar professional (staying anonymous, as it's an uncommon profession) VETASSESS service requested: Skills assessment for ENS visa Application express posted from Australia: 19 October, 2012 Additional information submitted with application: Form SRG-05, requesting urgent attention due to looming birthday deadline Email with online (preliminary) results: 29 October, 2012 Positive skills assessment letter received: 31 October, 2012 Yes, I was stunned at the less-than-two-week turnaround. I was hoping for a result within 4-6 weeks, as my deadline wasn't until early December. But there you go. (Hope you don't mind a Yank invading your forum. I figure we are in somewhat similar situations, being native English language speakers generally with original documents not requiring translation.) YankDownUnder
For what it's worth, my strategy was very similar to Bonza's. However, it looks like he was in far more of a hurry than I was, because I didn't bother emailing scans of documents. I also didn't use color scans. I just double checked it 5 or 6 times and tossed it all into an Express Post envelope, using those large paper clips to organize sets of related documents such as "all documentation related to employer 1". As instructed by VETASSESS via phone (don't be afraid to call them, they are very helpful), I included the SRG-05 form as the topmost page in my packet, and (again per instructions) wrote URGENT at the top of the form in big letters and highlighted it in yellow. I also included a cover letter explaining a couple things that they might wonder about or question, and included a detailed table of documents submitted, grouped by category. Bonza, given your timeline, it looks like the person who did mine put it down, mailed the result, and then picked up yours. Even the time it took to process both assessment requests was pretty much identical. From the date they received it, to the date I received the email notifying me that the assessment had been completed (boy, was that a shock!), it was 6 business days (10 calendar days). It took another 2 to receive the paper assessment letter. Edited November 14, 2012 by YankDownUnder

I have applied beginning of October (docs received 30 Oct) and also have sorted the documents and added cover latter for all of them, but still haven't received any update on my application... My guess would be that the urgency request is the most important thing that speeds up the assessment process:)

As you have applied on 25/12/2012 (During the holidays as Vetassess was closed till 03/01/2013) so probably they will be reviewing the applications these days and hopefully you will get the reply tommorow or day after. Good luck Edited January 6, 2013 by fari447
