Lots of interest after CV submitted

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I sent my CV to loads of potential employers recently and I have had some really positive interest. Myself and my family are going to Sydney in April to check everything out, schools, housing etc. and several companies want to see me for an interview and hopefully discuss sponsorship whilst I'm there.

If we agree Sydney is the place for us, our plan was to submit GSM Visa application as soon as we get back. If I get sponsorship after this, am I able to transfer my GSM Visa to an Employer sponsored Visa?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Congratulations on the interest in your CV

You used to be able to change a skilled visa to an employer sponsored - but they changed a lot of things last year so double check that even if us PIO folks say yes. (Sorry that's not much help!)

A lot of people take out a second application just in case something goes wrong with the employer sponsored route and the application fails - or if the employer sponsored is only for temp visa.

Congrats on the success with your CV.

When we were applying, we found that lots of companies showed interest and wanted a face to face interview. That is where you going would be a good idea as you can continue the interest and hopefully take the interest into a job. Good luck.

I'm a Web Developer/Designer/Graphic Designer so my CV/Portfolio contains examples of my work and employers can also see examples of my work online.

This gives me an advantage as employers can see my ability and experience with their own eyes and check what I say is true before they've even met me. In my game it's what's in your portfolio that holds more weight than what is in your CV.

So it is not the size of your profile that matters, but the way you use it (or market it) lol
