Hey Tracey,

Well we have flights booked for 5th May and 8 weeks accommodation booked for when we arrive. we are just trying to e-mail an application for import approval for my oh's car but the e-mail address keeps failing that is provided on the form, I think there has been something wrong with the ozzy government's email system. May have to call them later to find out. We have a leaving party booked for one week before we go, I am going to have ozzy themed decor. That's about it so far. Still need to sort stuff out in the house but I need to concentrate on an exam I have in a couple of weeks so I can finish my qualification before leaving. I can not wait to arrive. We are just going to have a couple of weeks off when we arrive before we start doing anything, just explore the area's and visit the attractions.

What's happening with your app Tracey? Any updates? x

Well, we are going away again in 3 weeks for 2nd ielts test! fingers crossed this time as we need overall 8 points for max 20 points on state sponsorship, if we dont get it this time we gonna be disappointed, its costing so much money to keep flying down to mainland. we'll get there eventuall hopefully just seems like its all against us :-( x x x

Hi Tracey, we're still waiting for a CO, cat 4's take quite a while! Immi updated on the 20th jan and it said everyone before the 18th may last year has a CO now. We're the 9th of june. They'll update again on Friday or Monday.

Good luck for the ielts test, I hope you get it over and done with. I know if we would of had to do it Darren wouldn't of passed, it's just not stuff that he's good at. My brother passed his just before christmas, he said it wasn't as easy as people think it is. He's trying to beat the changes that are going to happen this July. You'll get there, just think it's all worth it in the end!

Lucy yours sounds very exciting. It must feel great, but quite nerve racking knowing that your finally doing it?!

Tracey - Good luck with ielts....I hope all goes well. My OH would have been no good at it I don't think. Keep the Faith! Never give up. x

Charlotte - Sounds like you should soon have a CO then looking at the dates they have reached now. I think you will have your visa 3/4 months from now. I am actually not nervous. Just excited and looking forward to it. We feel like we are living in limbo at the moment and just can't wait to get out there. I'm fed up with the UK!! x

tc both, Lucy xxx

Hi, we did use an agent but we have our visa now so out of the process. We used Go Matilda which were excellent and highly recommended on here. Welders is just a standard trade so any good agent would be able to help, you don't really get specialist ones for that area and it's not needed. If you have no clue I would recommend using an agent like we did then they can take care of it all and you just fill in what they send you. Hope this helps.

Lucy.

Really? Did they say why you wouldn't have much of a chance? Are you going state sponsored?

Had a manic 2 days clearing the garden and cupboards so it all looks good for the estate agent photos and the weather turns against us ..............grrrrrrr!

2 tip runs and a transit load, and I still have 2 sheds and a garage to clear...............unbelievable how much I have found to chuck.....does it breed ??

Absolutely knackered so up for a dinner wine and bath once the kids are in bed !

Did they say why you wouldn't have much chance? Is your partner a welder? Has he been working in this area for 4 years plus? Did he ever go to college? He would need to go for a skills test with vetassess, but if he reached the requirements and passed the test then I don't see why you wouldn't have a chance. The first part of the skills assessment is just filling in forms about what you do so they can assess if it's worth you coming to the practical stage. For First class welders best route and quickest is state sponsorship. I am not sure how well you would do contacting employers yourselves, they would have to be willing to sponsor you on a 457 visa. State sponsorship would be better as most employers are not interested until your actually there. Did you contact Go Matilda? It's hard to comment with out much info on your situation.
