Guest yugoj Posted January 20, 2011 Hi I'm arranging a bit of a get together for people who have newly arrived in Perth. No idea how many (if any!) will turn up but I'll be there so feel free to come along if you're free. Details are in the post here: http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/socialising-get-togethers/104383-perth-foreshore-sunday-bbq-meetup-30th-jan.html Thanks, Jo

Guest yugoj Posted January 20, 2011 Sounds good I will try make it along on the 30th. How many people are you expecting Jo? I'm afraid I have no idea! I have posted the details in a few threads now - all on which people are saying they want to meet up with new PIO'ers out here but no-one has actually posted to say they will be going. I guess I'll just have to see on the day. I'm going along with my boyfriend and a few of our friends so, even if no-one turns up, we'll just have a relaxing bbq on the foreshore anyway! Guest lalalaliza Posted January 20, 2011 Ok cool. How long have you been here for, how are you settling in and where are you living? Sorry lots of questions. We have been here since Sept and are living in Duncraig.
Guest yugoj Posted January 20, 2011 Hi Been here since end of Nov. Our ship with our stuff arrives in Freo today! (apparently). I came on a permanent de facto visa with my boyfriend who's from Perth but has been living with me in the UK for the past 3 yrs. We're living mainly with his mum in Kardinya but doing a bit of house sitting too - this week we're in Bunbury in a lovely house across the road from the beach! Loving it so far. Both working from 'home' (wherever that happens to be that week!) for our old jobs back in the UK and trying to save up a deposit on our first house. So the more house sitting we can get the better. :-) It's a much more relaxing life working from home. And right across the road from the beach... well, 'coffee breaks' are slightly different at the moment! We do have OH's friends out here who we meet up with quite a bit but I'd love to meet new people too. I love looking after children too - I miss the kids I used to babysit for back home, and would quite like to meet up with some families as well as other 'young' couples (we're 30 and 31, so not so 'young' anymore I suppose!) - hence why I'm trying to organise this get together.
