If your occupation isn't on this list I don't think you are Cat 2. http://www.business.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0018/5760/SIR-Skills-in-Demand-Summary-Table-March-2011.pdf

This is because there are already sufficient applications to be processed by DIAC in the next few months. Existing applications 'on hand' in DIAC sponsored by NSW in these occupations will receive Level 2 priority processing: Financial Investment Adviser Life Scientist Biochemist Pastrycook Production Manager (Manufacturing) Vocational Education Teacher Corporate General Manager Medical Administrator Pharmacist Hospital Pharmacist Retail ............ DOES THIS APPLY TO ME ? JUST BEEN CONFUSED ?I GUESS I'M FED UP WITH ALL THE CHANGES.

Sorry, I went straight to the .pdf lists but I've just gone back and re-read the narrative and I think you are right. Other States included all occupations on their .pdf with a line through unavailable occupations, or a note or something, but NSW just drop it off the list completely - confusing. I take back my previous comment - based on the write-up that looks to me to confirm you are Cat 2 - congrats! Poor IELTS marks to NSW for their writing skills and poor reading marks to me! Guest AustrAnglian
Do these occupations also apply for regional sponsored visas? NSW have made their write-up confusing. They list 6 new occupations open for the 475, 2 new occupations open for the 176, and a further 10 occupations that are temporarily closed, but they don't say which visa type (or region) these additional 10 apply to. I think the definitive sentence relating to the 10 is as follows: Existing applications 'on hand' in DIAC sponsored by NSW in these occupations will receive Level 2 priority processing: The way I read this is that if you have already received sponsorship in one of these 10 occupations then your sponsorship will be honoured for Cat 2 priority. Wensmal already has sponsorship on one of these 10 occupations (Vocational Teacher) so they will honour that sponsorship - at that point it doesn't matter whether the original sponsorship was for a 176 or 475 or which region the 475 was for. That is my interpretation. If I was Wensmal I would write to Beth Bull to confirm this and probably also send a PLE to DIAC to confirm that DIAC interpret NSW in the same way. Wensmal - links below for contacting NSW and PLE to DIAC in case you need them: Contact us - Industry & Investment NSW: Business in NSW General Skilled Migration Post-Lodgement Enquiry Form

I would be pushing your agent for clarification first. I can't advise about whether DIAC or NSW will respond directly to a PLE or email from you if you have an agent - It's not something I've had to do. If your agent is not responding to you I would go ahead and send a PLE anyway. Let us know if you get some confirmation from the authorities - I am hopeful that you are Cat 2. Guest Colorana
OK, so we know Carolina makes a great Caipirinha, the South Africans have the Braai covered and I'd really like the Dutch to organise the beer - Belgian, of course! So what can the Poms bring? Btw we've lived in South Africa (Joburg unfortunately) and also Holland (Haarlem - wonderful) but not Brazil (yet - who knows?). Hi AustrAnglian, I would not mind if you bring Freedy (Mercury) and/or George (Michael) to the braai ja-ja. A couple of gin and tonics will also do! I wonder why you did not like JHB so much.....may have been the huge traffic jams?

G&Ts are also a good idea and maybe a jug of Pimms? To be honest I'm being a little unfair on Joburg - it was/is nice, but when you have a country that includes The Western Cape, Kruger Park and The Drakensberg there was always somewhere nicer to be. Looking forward to exploring more of Australia's scenic landscapes too!

Taha
Hi I notice that in "Specialisation required" for 2211-- occupations, Audit is mentioned, although there is no Audit occupation being sponsored I have been working in audit for the past 4 years and I have already had this assessed by Vetassess (positive), but my job title is Internal Auditor Based on the above, can I apply for NSW SS? Thanks

Thanks Hi Taha, you will probably need to consult with a Registered Migration Agent to get a definitive answer to your question, but in my opinion you will need the nominated occupation on your skills assessment to match with one of the 3 financial occupations on NSW's SMP in order to be sponsored. It's possible to be an Internal Auditor without being an Accountant, but NSW are specifically looking for Accountants with Audit/Risk and/or Tax experience. Do you have an accounting degree (or equivalent) that would enable you to have your skills re-assessed against one of the 3 Accountant codes by ICAA/CPAA/NIA? All the best with your app.

I have an MBA (Masters in Business Administration) with Finance as a major Dunno whether that can be considered as equivalent to an accounting degree. Guess i can write to ICAA/CPAA/NIA and find out
