I have not seen here around anymore, last time we spoke, he said he was giving up, since it was taking soooo long.... My agent suggested that the only reason NSW are bothering at all with the SMP that is they have some regional skills shortages outside of the main cities. Hi, I will join soon hopefully, I'm waiting to finish my ielts. I'm an ICT professional (261312, Oracle e-Business). I would have joined by now, but I missed my first ielts with .5 band in reading ie I got 8.5/6.5/8/8. Even I wonder why there are very few applicants waiting for NSW SMP's. good luck all. By the way, I am a software engineer and wondering what "Business experience as well as ICT experience" criteria means exactly? Do they want to get developers, which have their own business or what? Hi Carolina Was interested to read your post as I'm thinking about applying for NSW SS, hopefully it will still be on their new plan whenever that gets released. I was just wondering how straight forward the process was as you have had a positive outcome? Did you use an agent? How straight forward was the skills asessment, did you use CPAA or ICAA, and also again did you use an agent. Also did you submit an Aussie style CV for the application? I understand that they tend to be 3 pages long wheras where I am in the UK 2 pages is the norm? I'm a CIMA qualified Accountant and am thinking about making an application as a Management Accountant, as CIMA members have a mutual recognition agreement with CPAA. I am a bit worried about the specialisms required for Management Aco****ants, as I don't have a great deal of Audit experience, but over 7 years Management Accountant experience. I see that you have applied as Accountant (General), so I assume you have the Risk Managment experience they are asking for with this nominated occupation? Any help appreciated. It says "Five years experience in either: ... leading programs in either: energy audits, renewable energy, energy conservation/ efficiency, recycling, or sustainable water systems. I have no worthly idea what they meant by "leading programs", and was that "experience in blah-blah and leading programs in...", or was that or. Anybody is strong in deciphering messages? I have been working for more than 5 years in the Environmental area, but not the specified ones....I have been working in the construction field for more than 3 years (not five), but do not have experience in leading programs in either: energy audits, renewable energy, energy conservation/ efficiency, recycling, or sustainable water systems. I have lead a program of sustainable water systems for less then 2 years, have worked with recycling for less then 2 years....And they gave me the SS. So I am not sure if you have to have 5 years of experience in only one of these fields (which I don´t have), or more than 5 years total of experience in any areas, which is my case..... No mate, current SS is not SMP, and the difference is if your occupation is in SMP and if you have state sponsorship you will get priority 2 processing else you will get priority 3 processing which may take couple of years to process. good luck.
