lavender776 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Has anyone received an email about this following a visa grant? I registered on the Skills Matching Database when I originally applied, but didn't expect anything from it (and I was right). I've had this email come through today from skilledmigrant.gov.au, which looks like a similar thing. It seems a bit weird however, as it talks about the MODL. I don't whether it's my suspicious nature, but it seems a bit dodgy (asks for visa grant number and passport number).

Coincidently, I was going through the skills matching database today to find if my occupation / details was listed. It has been just a day after applying for my visa (which I have not yet received). However, I have not received any mail from skilledmigrant.gov.au so I can't answer your question but hopefully someone can.

It is probably not dodgy, just a display of incompetence; they have to pretend do something to keep themselves in a job. I have had similar emails addressed to clients who had been granted PR visas, having been employed in Australia for years in various senior roles.
Pumpkin Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I get them from time to time. Just ignore them.
