Guest Andy Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Afternoon all and happy new year, Their seems to be some confusion on other threads regarding visa questions and answers so this thread is for those of us that need info or for those good enough to pass on info, i know the hoff has some questions and i have one as well. If you are expecting to hear sometime soon that you have been lucky enough to gain your visa,s do they firstly let you know via email and do they send you all the relevant information that you need, also in what form does the visa,s come for example do they have to be issued into your passport or is it linked to your passport electronically? Also once you have them are you free to validate immediatly?
Pumpkin Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Yes you will get an email advising that your visa has been granted. The letter / email will contain your visa numbers. The visa is linked to your passport electronically, but it is a good idea to get a sticker in yor passport as well. Once you get to Australia it comes in handy, for example medicare office wanted to see it. To get the visa sticker in your passport, you send the passports with a copy of the grant letter to Australia house, with a prepaid special delivery self addressed return envelope. We sent ours on a Monday, had them back on Thursday. If you live in London you cn go in person.

ali Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Depends if you've asked to be notified via your agent or not. We got confirmation via email. we were on a 136 (became 175) and we had to send our passports off to London - our visa grant letter advised us what to do, when we had to validate by etc. It was all pretty self explanatory
Guest loweg Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Hi all, I'm new to this so you'll have to bear with me. I'm migrating to Sydney with my husband a week on Saturday. All very scary/exciting. He's an Aussie so we'll be living near his family. I've been granted a Partner Visa and received confrimation of this electronically. I was told I didn't need a visa label as computers would know all about it?? Do I really need to get a label before we fly (I don't think there is time), I'm worried I'll not be allowed in the country and my beautiful baby girl and husband will be through the other side of passport control without me. Look forward to hearing from someone. Thanks in advance Regards, from an anxious Pom xx
rammygirl Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 You will be fine the visa will be linked electronically. Belt and braces though take the printed confirmation with you just in case there is an IT hitch!!
Guest TaniaandRob Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Hiya, I am an Aussie taking my hubby home with me on his 309/100 visa in February - when we get to Melbourne can he cue with me in the Aussie passport isle? or can I cue with him in the other passport isle? We don't want to go through seperate if possible...
Guest loweg Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Thanks for the reply. My Aussie husband and baby daughter (who has an Aussie Passport) are planning on getting in the queue with me in the "other passports" aisle.
