confused about defacto??

hi everyone,

 

my boyfriend is currently in australia on a WHV since September 10 because he could not get work here at home anyway he is going for sponsorship with his company and wants me and our 3 chilren to join him in perth.

we were not married but have been together 9 years and have 3 children,

am i ok to go as defacto and if so what about the kids?? how do we go about getting them onto the sponsorship.

 

can my partner put 4 of us on his sponsorship?

 

also i plan on going over to him on a tourist visa and doing all this while we are there with him or should we sort it before i get over there.

i have a job and everything lined up but cannot travel there on any other visa as i have the kids IYKWIM.

Doesn't sound like it will be a problem, of course he can bring his family with him. Just needs to put all your names onto the application form. :biggrin:

 

To be honest I would wait until it is sorted before you pack three children up to the other side of the world, the other thing to note is that on a WHV your OH is not supposed to be joined by his dependent children at any time, why risk breaching that condition of the visa when you are so close.

I agree with Pumpkin I would wait as you are not allowed to have any dependents travel with you on a WHV and whilst you have a job lined up, you will not be allowed to work on a tourist visa. On a tourist or WHV you would also not be able to enrol the children into any schools etc. I would personally, let your OH secure his visa and put you and the children on the application -you would have no difficulty proving your relationship.

thanks for the speedy replies guys you have really put my mind at rest as i have been really confused about me PLUS the kids on his 4year visa.

but all sounds positive.

 

so hopefully he secures his visa ASAP and we can get over to him
