TFN (Tax File Number)

Hi

 

I had a TFN when I worked in Oz about 17 years ago, will that still be applicable to me or will I have to apply for a new one?

From the ato website:

 

Your TFN is yours for life, even if you change jobs, move interstate or change your name. If you leave the country and come back to Australia, you still use the same TFN.

Just to add if you no longer remember your number ,give the tax office a quick call when you arrive and chances are they will give it you over the phone (they did with hubby)
