We submitted ours yesterday. It went thru fine but now as I think about it more I feel I may have got some minor details wrong like under or over estimating monthly expenditure. Maybe i'm just being paranoid but do you think once we have a CO assigned we can elaborate.

Lets hear your comments to keep the WA SS topic alive :chatterbox:

We subbmitted our application on the 21st. I'm sure we all have our worries/doubts that we have not put enough or the right info down. I think when we want something so badly you fear the worse. I'm sure we will be ok, once we have a CO if they want more info they ask for it. Don't worry, try and relax (good advice - I should take it lol!) and wait to see/hear from WA in feb 2011!!

Hi everyone! Our agent submitted ours on the 20th. To Perth42 what makes you say we may here from them in Feb 2011?? Do you think it might be that quick to get sponsored??

Posted

i did read somewhere and I believe our agent also mentioned early applications should hear in approx 4 wks the outcome of sponsorship. I guess we have to take into account the xmas break but hopefully it shouldnt be too long.

I am thinking about changing from a from a family sponsorship applied in APril 2010 to a ss for WA but not sure if that's the right way to go.

May mean quicker processing if your occupation is on the smp as you will go into cat 2, and as you applied before July then it is posssible to switch so might be worth considering. If you have an agent I would definately discuss it with them.

Hi paulswin

When I called WA to make sure they got OH CV I asked her how ling she expected it to take until we hear something... She said 4 wks. Bearing in mind they are also closed for Christmas. I imagine that's when they will assess and call for the next steps... Well we hope!!!

I submitted my WA SS last night, the monthly expenditure was a bit of a pickle but i based it on here and then did the AUS to £ rate...:jimlad:

I expect i got a few things wrong, but it seemed simple enough to fill out...

i did a post about the Ielts for Tradies/Tecnicians as we do not have to do the ielts as long as we have a uk Passport,

but got some good advice from Alan Collett so im hoping its all ok...:jimlad:

I wonder how long it is before they acknowledge your SS Application..

Cheers Nick the Plumber..

This is very misleading information because its was reported in a story published in july and mentioned in each mirgration event that I attented. WA goverment are now able to selected which WA SMP applications are processed first.

6 months quicker, sounds like it could be worth switching to wa ss 176 visa!

can i just ask you all if you had any problems with the amount of words you wrote in the settlement part of the application. It says 500 in each part but would not accept 500 or less, or 500 for the whole 3 sections, i even condensed it to hardly anything and it still wont accept it.... HELP IM AT BOILING POINT.

thanks xxxx

check out WA website it describes the problems they are experiencing and Im sure I read that the amount of words was one of the problems. should get sorted soon for you!

We submitted ours on 20th through an agent. We decided from the beginning (Jan 09) to use an agent - it's really taken a lot of stress away for us.

We've been working under the presumption of 6 months for WA SS then 12 months Cat 2. If WA SS could now be 4-8 weeks (which would be fantastic) I wonder what the Cat 2 timeline now looks like? Anyone any ideas?

Hi milliebooboo I had the same problems and started the form again and again atleast 3 times because it just wouldn't accept it. I copied the questions into word and filled it out ensuring each section was less than 500 characters including spaces. What a pain because I had to miss out lots of info. At last it did go through.

Just try again and make sure you take into account the spaces in the 500 characters.

Good luck and Happy New year!

Hello and Happy New Year!

Has anyone been allocated a CO yet? x

Hi

Not sure if I'm able to help in this as not sure of the full process myself but here goes... We applied on the 21/12/10. Due to problems with application confirmation I called WA the following morning. The lady I spoke to confirmed they had everything and asked if I wanted to ask anything else.. Of course I did.. I asked how long it would be until we heard something. The lady said 4 wks.... So not sure what happens next or if this is when we expect to get a case officer..?????
