chalkyhill Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 your better going through a money exchange company otherwise you will get a tourist rate.

Guest Noodle Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 We have just used Moneycorp, we have also been sent a card to use at the airport should we choose to exchange money (which we will do). Leila x p.s. if you use Moneycorp don't forget to say you are a member of PIO.

Guest yugoj Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Hi Emma! I use xe.com and their service. It's really easy to set up and you just need a bank account in Australia to send the money to (doesn't have to be in your name). They do good rates and there isn't usually a charge. However, whoever you use at the moment you won't get much at all with the rubbish exchange rate. I haven't transferred anything for a long time so my savings are still stuck in the UK - am hoping for it to get better in the New Year..... Jo
Guest guest12791 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Last time we went to brisbane we used HIFIX and had no probs with them, good luck
Guest headinabox Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I used moneycorp and once you have an account with them you can move large or small amounts over (different rates depending on the amount). I found them to have the best rates, but have a look around. Watch out for hidden costs such as 'one of transaction fees etc as these would soon cancel out an apparently good rate of exchange.
