Thanks ;o) Hi Leelee53, I would say that due to the amount of experience you have as a school teacher, a 457 sponsored visa would be the best route for you and your family. It is a 4 year temporary visa which also gives you an option of getting your sponsor to help you gain permanent residency through the ENS visa route. Check out both of these options on the DIAC website. If I were in your position, I would be sending off my CV to as many schools as possible in Oz. Happy Hunting, John

Primary school teacher is not eligible for independent skilled migrant visa, but if any states are sponsoring primary teachers you might be able to go for that. Your chances would be improved if you would consider working in a regional area. Based on my reading around this and other forums, there is not a particular shortage of primary teachers, particularly in and around the cities and I think your chances of finding an employer sponsor from the UK are slim, unless you contact regional schools / authorities perhaps.
