B1K3R Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 So, yeah, I have butterflies in my stomach. Today is my last day at work and today week we fly to Brisbane to seek our destiny. What a journey has been! Can't even begin to describe how many things happened in the last year and a half. I wont bore you with any details, but I have to admit that since the thought of moving to OZ it has been one hell of roller coaster! You name them all...research, planning, stress, joy, excitement, worrying, fear, pain, relieved, joy, happiness and excitement again....huh... Anyway, right now I am feeling happy, very happy that we have arrived to this stage, very excited and looking forward, but a bit stress cause of the exchange rate, settling down and finding a job in OZ. But, it's all set, all planned all waiting for us, our house here is a total mess (cause we have been clearing the last few stuff before renting it), luggages almost packed, still lots of good byes waiting (darn I hate them!), then the remaining last few things, like disconnecting services, transferring some more money etc... Wife is all in for it too, its tougher for her cause she is the sensitive one, but I am so proud of her as she is back on track and back with a positive attitude. I'm surprised at the little princess, I can feel she is feeling a bit unsettled, she mentioned her friends and family and also felt a bit insecure, I sensed her, but she is strong like her dad and I am sure she'll be fine :cute: So I am sitting here at work, office almost empty cause most ppl are on leave, and I am leaving this work place (been here for the last 7 years).....and I just can't believe it that the loooooooong waited day has come! :arghh: Omg, I'm ranting, sorry guys. OK, I know, some of you will say, poor guy, he is coming to the rainy Brisbane, to the expensive country, he does not know what he is going into.....hehehehehe.....you know what, I don't care what they say, I have a dream, I made a plan, I feel OZ is my home and I am commmmiiiiiiiiiinggggggggg!!!!!!!!! :biglaugh: Cheers B!K3R

B1K3R Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 B1K3R - When did you tell them of your plans and how did it go down? Hi mate, well I have a very good relationship with my boss, we are best friends so it was very easy. I had told him 6 months ago when I got the visa and we planned it all together....the replacement for my job and also the hand overs. Officially, I had to give my resignation 8/9 weeks before (7 years + 1 week for each extra year). So, I think, if you dont have a good relationship with your company, just leave it to the resignation day, otherwise honesty works  Good luck! Cheers B!K3R

B1K3R Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Thanks guys  My last day went very well....most people were on leave so I didn't have to spend hours going around the offices hugging people :biglaugh: No seriously....it felt really weird leaving my office. Spent the last 7 years there and it was kinda my 2nd home. Was actually very happy, cause you know, reality hits you and you know you are very close to OZ! But, I was surprised at myself cause I actually kept staring at my colleagues....kinda wanted to leave but at the same time it was hard parting from them....and this is the tough guy talking! :cute: Now I am home, jobless, the last time was when I was at uni  , waiting for the time to pass and board the plane. I have everything ready, only the last few bits a pieces. As always, wife is out having fun with her friends, she wants to get the most of it in the last few days  Off to ready my little princess the bed time story :cute: PS: I dont live in the UK Cheers B!K3R
