New Year. What Does It Really Mean To You?

Well, new year is fast approaching, :jiggy:, so are you one of life's optimists, pessimists, or are you just a shrug your shoulders type of person and will take what comes.

Personally I normally hate new year, but this year I am really looking forward to it, many things lined up and raring to go, BUT.

Normally you would find me sitting on my chair staring into space as Big Ben welcomes in the new year, saying to myself, 'Feck, another year gone and nothing achieved, same this year I guess', (I normally say this to myself in an Eeyore type style, :biglaugh:) but hopefully this year will be different.:jiggy:

So do you find yourself making all these big plans, really looking forward to the new year ahead, then as time goes by you realise you are 'just' existing again, nothings really changed, and you just get on with it.

Or are determined to no matter what make a big difference to your life in the coming year and no matter what you will see these plans through to the end.

Or do you just say, 'No, happy with my lot, and onwards and upwards'.:notworthy:. I'm not really talking of new year resolutions, more a 'I'm really going to go for it this year, come hell or high water'.

I guess at the end of the day are you a dreamer, realist, optimist, pessimist etc?

Cheers Tony.

I'm a REALIST and an optimist

I only got where I am now because of me, and have much to look forward in the New Year. Except turning 20 lol, getting old I am! In fact this year coming and the year after should be great if all goes to plan :)

I'm going to my sisters hotel for a traditional religous new years eve party.

She's got a brilliant Elvis impersonator on and we are gonna rock the joint.

Loads of beer, gorgeous food, fab entertaintment and after being stuck in on news year eve for the last 15 years with the kids, i think i will make an a7se of myself, cos i will be so giddy.

I have always been a realist (despite my user name), but for me this new year marks the start of my new life and years of stress to get to this point. The last 3 years involved a fair bit of heartache, anxiety and hard work and only now am I about to begin to reap the rewards. That's not to say that the hard work and determination is about to stop, in fact its only the beginning, but nevertheless its a massive achievement given the odds against me at one point.

What I have learned this year, is that if you focus, work hard, and are determined, then you have a good chance of succeeding. A lesson I will never forget.

I know this is a little out of context mate, and not quiet what I meant in the OP, and I reckon you could do with a bit of cheering up after some of their latest performances, but you lie young man.:wubclub::wink:

I bet 1977, 1978, 1981, 1984, 2005, mean a lot to you mate, couldn't find the exact date, but years will do Pablo. This is of course without the Premiership titles and so on.

Only kidding mate, but I bet these dates are tattooed in your brain.:cool:

Unfortunately I couldn't find ANY with West Ham, well I could, but the wheel was still square the last time they won anything.:biglaugh::biglaugh:

Cheers Tony.

I'm always optimistically dreaming of a bright future but sometimes the pessismistic realist in me puts the brakes on....my New Years motto...The only constraints on our happiness are those that we place on ourselves...

2011 I hope will be the start of a new chapter in my life. I am hoping that with the move to Oz me and my o/h will make a better life for ourselves, meet new friends and hopefully have a family of our own.

It is up to us to live a happy and fullfilled life and at the moment I am not doing that so I hope to change that!.

Bring it on!
