3jps Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Hi, Is there any one here who experienced the same predicament as I'm in right now? I have hypertension (mild) for more than a year now and have been taking medicine since I was diagnosed with such a health condition. I'm worried of the impact that this could bring to my medical exams which I'm planning to take early next year. Should I declare it or not? Any advise would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance and happy new year to all. 3jps
ali Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 You'll have to declare it, when you go for your medicals ask your dr to supply you with a letter detailing what your health problem is, any investigations, how it's treated and what ther prognosis is (and wether it effects you in anyway). The more information you provide the less likelyhood that they will ask for more infor and hold up the application
Guest Guest31881 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Hi, You have to declare it, Declare any existing conditions and if you take medication to control it, take that medication with you. A letter from your doctor explaining that the condition is controlled will help. They will not refuse a visa just because of hypertension. I have a heart condition and take medication and I passed the medical so stop worrying about it (or your blood pressure will rise) . The doctor is not there to stop you going and any conditions under control will not pose a problem normally.
Phoenix16 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 please don't worry! I take medication (warfarin) and I worried myself silly that I wouldn't get the visa. my migration agent advised that I took copies from my medical records of all letters etc to my GP from my consultant which I did. the medical went well, he told me he felt I was super fit and healthy and not to worry. I had been given advice leading me to believe my case would go to a Medical Officer of the Commonwealth, but not so, my visa was granted very quickly after my Meds were submiitted with no further questions asked. best advice I can give you is be honest, get all your facts together and DON'T worry!
