:arghh:Hi Folks, been a member of this site for a while now but just as an observer watching peoples life changing decisions.

Now it seems to me my turn as i've just been offered a job on a 457 and it's just went a bit scary. i'm looking for advice about nice suburbs around SE and suggestions for schools etc for my 2 young boys. I've got so many questions but this will get me started, thanks in advance for any suggestions and advice.

Dingley Village is a nice place and popular and pricey. Its a small suburb surrounded by major roads. If you were working in the area then you could live along the beach at Aspendale, Edithvale, Chelsea Bon Beach, Patterson Lakes all not too far away. Also Mordialloc and Parkdale. Parts of Keysborough are ok. Springvale would not recommend.

Be aware of the Moorabbin Airport when looking at suburbs around, it has an airport zone where you would be affected by flight paths. Parts of Parkdale Mentone and further are in this zone.

No train at Dingley, bus. Nearest train lines would be the Frankston line to the south and the Dandenong Pakenham to the north.

We live in Lyndhurst, close to major roads, train etc, near cranbourne as someone else mentioned. Nice area, new primary school just about to open if thats what you need. Kind of a developing area with a lot of people from all over the world to get to know. Prices are OK but going up fairly quickly. Or Lynbrook is nice also.

Dingley Village is nice itself, I would also look at Mordy (Mordialloc) Aspendale Gardens, Parkdale, Mentone and Cheltenham. There are some great schools around Mentone and McKinnon is a superb school and an area you could consider, approx 20 mins from Dingley Village and one of the best secondary schools around.

We use to live in Lyndhurst, lovely suburb, new train line on it's way, although Merinda Park station is just 2 minutes away. Lynbrook Primary is an excellent school. You also have Cranbourne which is a very up and coming suburb and has grown tremendously in the last 7 years

I would say have a look at Mornington, it's fantastic down here, good prices for properties, lovely beaches, great schools, easy access to the Nepean Highway which takes you all the way to Melbourne and the soon to be completed Freeway which will make a commute to the CBD easier.

If you look at Frankston South it's also affordable and would put in the Frankston High School zone which is noteably one of the best public high schools in the state!

Good Luck
