Nursing student wanting to say hi and help

Hey, as the title says I am new on here so I thought I would introduce myself and also see if anyone can point me in the right direction.

 

I am currently studying nursing in the UK which I hope will open up some opportunities in Oz in a few years time.

 

As part of my degree I have an elective 6 week placement. I can choose where and what i do as long as I fund and arrange it all myself.

 

Not sure what visa type between 573 higher education or 442 occupational trainee visa. I would be accompanied by my husband and 2 children and I believe dependants are allowed on these visa types.

 

Next question is has anyone on here done this before or know of any hospitals who have had overseas students on placement. I have been told by my univeristy that it is common for their students to go to both Oz and NZ for electives so I know it is a possibility.

Perhaps talk to dept of immigration or agent to find out the best visa. If your Uni have already had people on their elective go to Aus/NZ they may already have links to the Uni's there.

 

If you're thinking of WA we get most of our students from Edith Cowen, Murdoch and Notre Dame - you could look them up and contact them - they may be able to help you find a placement.
