Guest SUSHI Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Hi guys, I am moving out to Sydney in January and will be taking my girlfriend with me. I am a citizen so have no issue with regards to getting out there however my girlfriend needs to obtain a working holiday visa. Is it best to apply directly through the Australian government website or to seek the help of an agent? Price wise the one agent I have come across that displays a price up front seemed quite a bit more expensive than doing it through the .gov website. If anyone has any agents they can recommend I would be most grateful. Thanks SUSHI
Linday Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Hi My son applied for a WHV online and it was pretty straightforward. They just needed dates of travel and some proof of funds I think (just to cover the initial few months). I came through in a few weeks by email. There was no need to use an agent. All the information you need is here: Visa Options - Working Holiday - Visas & Immigration Hope this helps.
Ozmaniac Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I can't imagine why anyone would apply anywhere other than on the government site. It will cost only AUD$235 and will probably be granted within a few hours or days (at the most). You'll pay through the nose anywhere else for no benefit whatsoever. http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-holiday/417/ 417 Working Holiday visa http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-holiday/462/ 462 Work and Holiday visa
Guest SUSHI Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Thanks guys, I applied on the government website and then immediately after the application went through I then went to check the application status. It had been approved straight away.... and by straight away I mean 1 minute later! Easy peasy! Thanks SUSHI
