Please help me,

I am 31, wife is 29 yrs and daughter is 3yrs. We desperately want to make a new life in Australia on a perm basis and get out of UK. We were told that the 175 visa is the best but takes time.

My wife is a deputy Manager at a retail store in the UK and I work for the Home Office, I was advised by an agent that she needs to get a reference for the last 3 years she has been working as a deputy Manager. She has a bachelor degree in Business Administration which is 3yrs.

The agent has said that her skills would come under 'General Manager' but I cant see it on the new list. And i dont want to be led by the agent into something that is refused and my money/time is lost.

Please advise if her occupation would come under the list

If there are any other visas which would benefit please let me know.

Thanks

I have just checked the SOL and did not see General Manager on Schedule 3 which means that the occupation is not eligible for a 175 visa application. Perhaps your aent has plans for state sponsorship, you need to ask him / her about this, find out which state is sponsoring in this category at the moment.

General Manager is a difficult one to get a positive skills assessment for, to be honest, I am not sure that deputy manager in retail would cut it.

I certainly think you need to be grilling your agent about this strategy.

There are actually four lists, for you / your OH only schedules 3 and 4 are relevant. Schedules 1 and 2 are old lists and have some relevance to Australian students but not to anyone else.

I noted that General Manager is not on schedule 3, this means you cannot apply for a 175. If it is on schedule 4 then you might be able to apply for a state sponsored `176 visa, but you would need to find a state that is sponsoring General Managers. And you need to get the skills assessment.

There is not enough relevant information to advise about possible visa strategies.

Were you advised by a registered migration agent?

If not I suggest you consult one.
