Guest greenarcher Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Hi Happy holidays I have a pending 475 visa, my fiance is currently on a 457 visa and she going to apply for a PR. My question is if I go to Australia with a tourist visa can I marry my fiance in Australia and will this allow me to be part of her application as a PR Thanks
ali Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Have you thought about the prospective marriage visa? Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300)
ali Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Sorry realised that your partner needs to be PR
Guest greenarcher Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 thanks for your help, I hope any MARA agents can help me on this thanks
Pumpkin Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 If you are looking for responses specifcally from a MARA registered agent, then you might need to go and make an appointment with one. Do you not meet the criteria of defacto? if so then you don't need to get married. The concern I would have with your plan is that when you turn up at immigration with a wedding suit in your bag, they might think you are not a genuine tourist. Are you hoping to stay after the wedding or would you come on a return ticket and fully intend to go home? Could you get married in the UK?
Guest greenarcher Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Thanks pumpkin, will try to ask my MARA Agent, happy holidays
