Guest AustrAnglian Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Hi Killie, I do not know how long your skills assessment is valid for. Each assessing authority is different - mine is valid for 2 years. Note however that it only needs to be valid on the day you lodge your visa. See below: Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 176) Skills assessment validity dates Some assessing authorities may impose a validity date on a skills assessment. If your assessment is only valid for a certain period, you will need to make sure that your application is lodged within this timeframe. This is on the 176 visa pages. There is less information on the 475 visa pages but the same will be true. Your skills assessment was issued in Dec-09 and you told me you lodged your 475 in Nov-10, so your Skills Assessment was only 11 months old at the date of lodgement. I will be surprised if any Skills Assessments are valid for less than a year so you are probably OK. Other posters will hopefully confirm this. It does not matter how long it now takes you to get a CO, or how long it takes until a decision is taken to award the visa - those dates are not important for validity. As long as the Skills Assessment was valid on the date you lodged you are OK. Merry Christmas.
