A Wet Christmas

Was so looking forward to spending some of our first Christmas in Australia on the beach...

 

We did go see the sea this morning which was fantastic even though it was raining

 

But this is our garden and the rain is forecast to last for several days

 

Or has Peter Kay would say

 

"It's Spitting!!!!"

I don't know what the kids are most excited about, the chance of a cyclone hitting in the next 48 hours or getting their Christmas presents.

just got back from the beach, its 34 degrees and blue skies here in Perth and forecast to get hotter over the next few days :biggrin:

Hi mate

 

the thing is, you will certainly get alot more nice days there in one year than what you got back home in sunnyless west yorkshire over 5 years, just bide your time at least you know your going to get some great sustainded weather eventually there hasn't been a drought previous to this for nothing.

This is going to be the norm worldwide I am afraid, wetter continents worldwide as weather patterns shift, plenty of hot droughts 45+ but plenty of periods of rain in the UK and Oz, one positive thing is that Oz needs the rain after decades of drought, Aussie weather has certainly changed over the last decade or so.

Brisbane has had a lot of wet weather for the last few years and it is welcome as the dams are not bone dry as they were years ago.

Stuck in a very rainy Byron Bay, no chance of spending the day at the beach.

So tired of it, we looked up the flights back to sunny Melboune ... Agghhh

Also it says it is on target to be the coldest winter in 50 years, stop whinging about it not being nice in Australia - 5 minutes ago it was years of drought, think about the afflicted. lol.

Glad i moved from the coast to be further inland, at least we are getting some nice days, everytime I look at the weather radar Brisbane and the east coast is lost under the rain clouds.

Do you mean the one in Toojay? Some of those were lit deliberatley, but the origional fire was thought to be started by power lines.
