ausdreamer Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Got as far as Heathrow then had to come home. One day . . . . this is such disapointing sad news. I can't imagine how you are feeling. Can only say I am really sorry.
Guest The Ropey HOFF Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Its been horrendous, 3200 cancelled flights, 500,000 people delayed, thousands stranded all over, have you got any alternative date to go? best of luck.
BritChickx Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I'm sorry to hear, hope you can get on that plane ASAP.
calNgary Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010  Aww you poor things. Think on the possitive side though, by the time you do get here some of this blinking rain might have stopped. I think id opt for a white xmas over a wet(very wet) one,lol Cal x
Ammosaph Posted December 24, 2010 Author Posted December 24, 2010 Thank you all for your supportive messages. No we won't now go - luckily we're getting a full refund and should be able to claim our expenses back. We stayed at Heathrow for 4 days before we gave up and came home. Our airline didn't charter any extra planes, they just started running their normal scheduled flights again. Realistically it would have been a week before we'd have got on another flight. For a variety of reasons that wouldn't have worked for us. On the plus side though - whilst waiting at Heathrow we got news that our WA sponsorship app had been submitted! Yey - things are starting to move again for us - finally!
Guest The Ropey HOFF Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Sounds as though you have really gone through it, good news on the sponsorship app and just reading your posts, i can see you are a positive person, you will get there in the end, all the best and i hope you still have a great christmas.
