I know Christmas is a time for giving, etc, and at the end of the day I couldn't really care less what I get, the day itself is enough and lets face it, the true meaning has been somewhat lost recently, BUT.

If money was NO object what would you give and hopefully receive.

GIVE

I would give/buy my mum and dad their old house back just down the road from me. They lived there for 48 years, but decided that they wanted a change. Since that time they have never really been truly happy, and they would kill to get back. Unfortunately even if my brothers and me all chipped in we wouldn't be able to afford it, but one day, before they get too old we may be able to make their dreams come true again.:wubclub:

RECEIVE

I would like to open the deeds/keys to the property below in Eleuthera, (or something like it) Bahamas. Saw them many years ago when I went Bonefishing. And when I was last they still hadn't sold. Couldn't care less about the size, it is very basic, but I love the place. A bit of renovation, a lick of paint, some local market produce, no TV, very few people, ahhhh.

As an avid Bonefishermen this would be a dream come true for me. And the island and the people are idyllic, friendly and very welcoming.

We can all dream cant we.:embarrassed:

Cheers Tony.

Aww, hope your folks get their house back one day.

Love the look of that place in the bahamas, imagine owning somewhere there, nice!

If money was no object I would buy my parents a place in the Lake District, just outside Keswick. They love it there and we've been going as a family there for about 25 years.

As for a gift I'd like to receive, well, there are lots of dreams, but I would love to own a home in Williamstown, Melbourne. Traditional style clap board homes with veranda and white picket fence right by the sea. My idea of heaven. Just need a spare $900,000 and its all mine...

Money no object... I'd buy my mum a lovely house with room for her pets, a decent car in the driveway... similar for the rest of my family... and give them all 1st class tickets to come over and visit in comfort.

Money no object... I'd buy a wonderful place in the GC hinterland for my fantasy B&B, with special rates for PIO members of course. A peaceful haven with a few animals, home produce, the comfiest beds you ever sleep in and I'd bake bread and all kinds of treats daily. I know just the person to work on it with me. Oh and a car that is likely to last me a few years, an iPad and some wellies.

All that aside though, I'd be pretty happy with hugs from the people I love and a slab of Dairy Milk.

Well if money was no object,,,,

First i would book flights for all my friends and family back in the UK so they could fly over and see the life we have made ourselves and of course see the wonderful country that allowed us to do it. I would make sure close family had enough cash to live the rest of their lives in comfort.

Second, i would buy my best mate and her daughter a house as they will soon be homeless (due to no fault of their own)

and third i would make sure i had trust funds set up with adequate amounts for my children's education and a deposit for a home when they are old enough to escape the clutches of the mum and dad. Of course i wouldn't tell them that once in their homes i would go around every day and make a mess whilst eating all their food and leaving every light and electrical appliance on that i could find! lol

Of course none of the above would happen as Gary would have emptied our account first and spent it on a top of the range fishing boat and gear, new motorbike and any other toys he fancied, lol.

If money were no object.....

Id want to pay off my brothers mortgage and get him settled wherever he wanted to be

Id want to help out my stepchildren in a similar way

id want to send tickets for my aunt, uncle and cousins to come out here to see everything.

Id want to give my best friend in Perth (and her family) tickets to fly to Brisbane anytime she wanted.

A gift I`d like back.....................More time with my grandparents. By the time I moved only one was left. I`d like for her particularly to see the house and life we made.

Plus I`d like my other grandparents to meet my husband.

Sounds like you'll need a housesitter for that place in Aus :cute:

I'd buy my stepdad (as much as he can be an a-hole sometimes) a ticket/holiday to America so he can meet his sister who he's never met! And tickets for my mum and brother to go. I'd also buy them a new house and pay off their debts.

I'd give money to the rest of my close family to do whatever they want with.

I'd pay for me and a few friends to travel round the world, Australia incuded of course!

OMG, watching Jeremy Kyle, they have this 'Christmas wishes' special, right now they're showing a little boy who I think doesn't have long left, getting to meet some of the team from LFC, soo sad

 What are you doing watching Jeremy Kyle? :biglaugh::tongue:

Aww, sounds very sad though. There's a charity called 'Make A Wish' who focus on making dreams come true for terminally ill children - amazing charity.:hug:
