Guest samjoshua Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Ok I'm in the UK for Xmas and about to go back to Sydney to complete my second year for PR on a subclass 309. I arrive in Sydney on the 4th Jan however my passport expires on June 11th! 6 months and 1 week. Now they say I should have 6 months but will I have complications at Sydney airport due to cutting it fine? If so what can I do at such short notice! It's only just occurred to me. Cheers.
Fashionably Late Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 You can get your passport renewed in one day for the premium price. My FIL has to do this since he cannot be without his passport due to his job.
RockDr Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I hate to tell you this, but that works out at 5 months and one week... Sorry I don't know how strict they are at immigration.
Quinkla Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 But June is the 6th month. January - whole month (almost) February - whole month March - whole month April - whole month May - whole month June - a few days
Parley Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Maybe you could tell the customs guy you were never any good at maths...
Cez Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Renew it before you go, they'll add on the extra months to the 10 year passport (so 10 years and 6months), also it's tonnes cheaper to do it in the uk rather than oz.
