Hi we are off to perth... have a few friend who both are brickies who now live out there ( moved within last year) both found work straight away

There 20 years housebuilding, along with schools. shopping centre's etc etc and loads of new developements in the planning..

I should not worry... otherwise you or us would be on their SMP!!!

Yeh but .......Mids you forgot that them 2 brickies aint no longer layin bricks......and no dig here at woodbutchers but you either cut roofs here(traditional),hang a few doors, or do cabinet work, or the shuttering....end of no skirting generally no frames or arc (us brickies do that)..we currently got a few carpenters working for us and they are gettin$50 an hour but they supply tools, juice to where ever there sent up to 90kms approx, drill bits the lot , we supply the doors and door furniture

My brother in law is a handyman / ceiling installer in Mandurah and has been very busy for years. He can't see an end to the work because of the recent increase in population.

Good luck!

Just wanted to say hi to the two prestonians ... I lived in Walton-le-Dale and worked at RPH.

Lots of building work in the southern Corridior at the moment - baldives has a lot of development

hi, it's nice to hear someone local is taking the big step too, we are based in leyland. we started our application 2 years ago and only got our state sponsorship in december, so hopefully we'll get the visa in the next few months. I think there is work over there, its just a case of getting the right balance of where to work and where to live.

true there is quite a bit of work about both north & south of perth.

Carpentry here is a bit diff from the uk as you will know no frames to do ,rarely skirtings, all the roofs are either steel framing ,but most timber they call em stick roofs here as they are generally traditionally cut and trust me there very fast at them, a bit of studwork but not lots.

roofies i would say 50% colorbond and 50% tiles no felt just battened off and tile
