176 visa app lodged

Finally I lodged my 176 visa app with VIC SS (under SMP). Informed VIC with TRN and VIC confirmed that they submitted form 1100.

 

However, I'm worried with one thing. I nominated 261399 ( Software and Applications Programmers NEC) as occupation ( that's what VIC gave SS under ) and I provided my ASCO based skills assessment ( 2231-79 Unix specialist). Will this be a problem? Will DIAC accept this?

 

Now fingers crossed .....

Hi Tarini, as long as DIAC have a direct match between the ASCO and ANZSCO codes on their Schedule 3 or Schedule 4 there should be no problem. I also have a Skills Assessment with an ASCO code and a State Sponsorship with a DIAC-matched ANZSCO code and there was no problem lodging my 176 on that basis.

 

Your codes appear (to me) to be matched on Schedule 4 so I think you will not have a problem filing this way.

We had a similar situation with the code for sec school teacher and there was no issue.

DIAC will link codes in the background and you won't be contacted regarding it.
