Ozzieland Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 What is your occupation ? You will have to check and see if your occupation is on QLD's new state sponsorship list...
Guest waynenicola Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Sorry, forgot to say !! Carpenter is my trade
Guest VickyMel Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Hi Wayne I don't know if Carpenter is on the SOL list 3 (which is the one that would get you on Cat 3) - it will be on DIAC somewhere - there are several SOL lists and its only one of them that qualifies for Cat 3. I think that this is the QLD SMP list SS (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 176) Eligible Skills List (158 KB) (just copied the link from the first page of Connies cat 2 thread http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/98525-category-2s-where-you-now.html) If you are on the QLD SMP then you are now Cat 2. If not you should contact QLD and check to see if they are including you in their SMP nominations. Hopefully someone who knows for sure will be along soon VickyMel
Guest Midlanders Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Hi I understand that qld has not got many trades on their smp and I know chippies are deff not on it. Therefore you will stay in cat 3 I believe. You only go to cat 2 if the state who nominated you are now showing on their smp. Sorry to say, but who know when you visa will get processed as cat 1, 2 will be action before yours and also you need to consider the number of visa available under 176 now they have to allocate to wanted trades . I can only suggest you apply to another state who has chippies on their wanted list.
