My daughter is 4 in May 2011.

Does anyone have any reommendations where she can go when we arrive in Berwick. She currently does 3 hours every morning goverment funded so to do nothing would be a little unfair as she really enjoys it. Im guessing some kind of day care?

Do I need to register her for starting kindergaten or would she go straight into prep as a school? For example my son will prop attend Berwick primary so would she go there at 4/5 years?

Plus Im on a 457 visa. Will she get funding to attend and if so when would this happen.

Thanks

Hi

In Victoria, to be eligible to attend a funded kindergarten program your child must be at least four years old by 30 April in their kindergarten year. Some kindergartens run programs for three year old children but this program is charged the full fee and is not eligible to attract the kindergarten fee subsidy.

Children start primary school in Prep. Children must be five years of age or older by 30 April of the year they start school

Hi, hope you don't mind me posting on this thread, but I just wondered how your daughter got on and what kindergarten you went to? We are moving to Berwick on Monday with a 3 year old boy who was also in nursery in Britain and I am clueless about state nurseries v private nurseries, how the subsidies work etc. My partner's on a 457 visa too.

Thanks for any pointers you can offer!

Suzanne
