Either way, Perth is the one part of the country I would like to see get a 3 day downpour just now.
Guest The Pom Queen Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Hi PP haven't seen you around for a while. It's lovely up in Cairns, it's been blue skies and 32 degrees every day. Have now realised to ignore the weather forecast though that has been telling us we will have rain/storms every day since we arrived and they haven't happened.
Guest chris955 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 It's absolutely pissing down here and about 18 degrees. The radar shows the rain goes about 300k's into central Queensland so I don't expect it to stop just yet.

I'm finding Cairns at the moment a little like living under a grill. Did you not get last night's deluge? The power of the rain is incredible here.. I washed and conditioned my hair in the storm last night..

Cazz Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 You should have taken that job in Perth Paul, it's been glorious over here! Hope it warms up soon hun. X
Quinkla Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I've almost had it with Australia. People go on about this wonderful outdoor lifestyle; constant barbecues; sunshine and warmth. Truly, I've been here 9 months and I've never been so cold and so wet in my life. I really hate it here; I just want to go back to Scotland and see the sun again. People keep saying that the summer will come soon but it's December, my heating is still on and it's been raining for weeks. Edinburgh might not always have been warm but at least it was generally dry and sunny and houses were well insulated and centrally heated.

This isn't the wettest year since 1974 and Melbourne isn't one of our colder cities. They're all the same....the whole country is just always cold and raining and the Australian tourist board and weather sites change the weather records to trick immigrants. Get out while you can. :biglaugh:
Guest siamsusie Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 We have temperatures here in our neck of the woods, anything between 22/ 30 recently. Hobart last week when we were there was 31. Definately shorts and T shirt weather. Today around 20/21 today, after a morning rainfall, a gorgeous day. We have cooked outside all winter. Luckily our home is well insulated which is now statutory here in Tasmania.
Guest famousfive Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 More bloomin' rain here today too, getting used to it at this stage.
Guest chris955 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 It didn't stop raining all day and is still raining. The kids literally haven't been able to go out more than a few hours in the week they have been on holiday. So much for being able to plan ahead.

Yeah, I agree Chris...this unusual year really makes you miss the normally good weather doesn't it...reminds you what it must be like for the less fortunate who live somewhere that rains a lot...thank god this year is just a statistical blip.
BritChickx Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Hmmm so if there's no sun/heat I better make my way to a different country? Nah, still going there!!! I would still rather be there with the rain, I'm fed up with the snow and ice now, it's disrupting my travels to work!!
MicheleW Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Had a fair amount of rain in Brisbane but where we live generally there has been plenty of sunshine as well. We were out at 7 am this morning doing the gardening and yes it did begin raining this afternoon and hasn't stopped, but I can't see why anybody wouldn't be able to get outside for at least 4-5 hours everyday.
Guest guest30038 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I've almost had it with Australia. . Bye Bye! kev
