its 20c here dropped from 30-34 earlier in the week and i am watching the storm clouds heading for Brisbane, we have had a few light showers, but it looks like Brisbane and sunny coast are in for heavy rain again

With you on that one Paul, Mate I went out to the shops today with jeans and a long sleeved shirt, cooler and really wet cant get any work done if this rain keeps up the dam is going to flood the bottom paddock and I will be stuck :mad:

@ Paul, I heard Summer was stolen by those Perth lot, they've hogged all the good weather, or maybe Queensland sold it to them as part of the Government privatisation programme. Either way, Perth is the one part of the country I would like to see get a 3 day downpour just now.

Hi PP haven't seen you around for a while. It's lovely up in Cairns, it's been blue skies and 32 degrees every day. Have now realised to ignore the weather forecast though that has been telling us we will have rain/storms every day since we arrived and they haven't happened.

It's absolutely pissing down here and about 18 degrees. The radar shows the rain goes about 300k's into central Queensland so I don't expect it to stop just yet.

I've almost had it with Australia. People go on about this wonderful outdoor lifestyle; constant barbecues; sunshine and warmth. Truly, I've been here 9 months and I've never been so cold and so wet in my life. I really hate it here; I just want to go back to Scotland and see the sun again. People keep saying that the summer will come soon but it's December, my heating is still on and it's been raining for weeks. Edinburgh might not always have been warm but at least it was generally dry and sunny and houses were well insulated and centrally heated.

It's all a lie mate. This isn't the wettest year since 1974 and Melbourne isn't one of our colder cities. They're all the same....the whole country is just always cold and raining and the Australian tourist board and weather sites change the weather records to trick immigrants. We have temperatures here in our neck of the woods, anything between 22/ 30 recently. Hobart last week when we were there was 31.

Definately shorts and T shirt weather.

Today around 20/21 today, after a morning rainfall, a gorgeous day. We have cooked outside all winter.

 

Luckily our home is well insulated which is now statutory here in Tasmania.

It didn't stop raining all day and is still raining. The kids literally haven't been able to go out more than a few hours in the week they have been on holiday. So much for being able to plan ahead.

Yeah, I agree Chris...this unusual year really makes you miss the normally good weather doesn't it...reminds you what it must be like for the less fortunate who live somewhere that rains a lot...thank god this year is just a statistical blip. :wink:

Had a fair amount of rain in Brisbane but where we live generally there has been plenty of sunshine as well. We were out at 7 am this morning doing the gardening and yes it did begin raining this afternoon and hasn't stopped, but I can't see why anybody wouldn't be able to get outside for at least 4-5 hours everyday.

Nah mate Oz has some great weather but people must realise that certain places to see a lot of rain and cloud and sometimes it is just to hot, anyone who goes to live in another Country just for the supposed weather is bonkers IMO, if you want gaurenteed sun go to Spain.
