Guest lexylou Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Hi everyone, I couldn't wait to share my good news with you all, so after 14 very long weeks I got an email to advise me that I have a positive skills assessment and I have been granted eligibility for membership to the AASW. What a great Christmas present. Now for the IELTS (don't know why) but hey ho. Good luck to everyone for Monday. Gillian

Wellers and Whitehead Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 congratulations and well done.i unfortunately have checked my asessment on line and it has been unsucessful...ho hum...have to wait and see now why they havnt passed it.but anyway...congratulations again Why did u fail to recieve a positive skills assessment? What did u have to do to rectify if this was possible?! I'm just completing AASW form I have three years post qual exp. Any advice on completing the form appreciated.. How much to write etc x
Joanna82 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 I am also in the process of applying for AASW membership and would be grateful for any advice. I have a 3.5 year degree from overseas and a little over 3 years of work experience. According to AASW my degree should qualify but is subject to individual assessment. Right now I think it could go either way depending on what I write when it comes to describing my work experience and translating my course descriptions. I am a little worried since the way I perceive the situation so far they would make money by flunking me (on top of the assessment fee which i find quite outrageous, they know very well every that they are the gatekeeper for almost all social workers going on independent visas).
