121/856 - Can I follow on after my husband??

Recommended Posts

Hi, fingers crossed it is looking like we might have a employer sponsor - whooppiieeeee.

I was just wondering if I can follow on after my hubby as they want him there asap. I will need to stay behind and sort out the shipping, sell the house and spend some time with my gran as she is terminally ill.

Do myslef and the kids need to go with him or can we follow on on a couple of months?? Any advice would be great - thanks.

As far as I am aware you should be able to follow on later.

You will be given a validation date by DIAC (usually based on the date of your Police Certs or Medicals - usually a year after which every is earlier). You all have to travel to Oz and validate by this time. (Once validated you could come back to the UK if needed)

If your husband is the main applicant then he usually has to go across first - with or without the rest of you. You could go at the same time or anytime before the validation date.

So yep your hubby could go first and you should be able to do the things you need to do and follow later.

(But do double check all this)
