Guest ingenschooly Posted November 4, 2010 Hi Everyone, I know this probably won't apply to many on here but I am trying to move from Thailand to Oz. It seems to be almost certain that we will have to pay extortionate rates to move our possessions and I am worried about having to fumigate everything and pay "tea money" etc. !!! to get the things out of the country. I really wonder if it is wiser to just sell it here and buy new again there. Anyone got any words of wisdom please? Who can I ask that will provide me with an honest service at a reasonable price??? calNgary 9,134 Posted November 5, 2010 Hi We moved from the UK 4 years ago and basically shipped nothing. We sent a few boxes of clothes, toys and personal stuff but sold all our furniture and bought here when we knew what we really needed. There are some bargains to be had out there if you look and sales here seem to be one every other month so never impulse buy, lol. Some of the bigger furnioture stores here in Brisbane to give you an idea of cost are Super A-Mart Fantastic Furniture Ikea Harvey Norman and for electrical items there is The Good Guys Retrovision Domaine Harvey Norman Hope this helps a little Cal x If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place... If you get a chance, take it, If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy they just said it would be worth it...
