So much for processing based on date of application. Ughh. Hi Matt You are not alone - we havent been assigned a case officer either - granted we only lodged our 176 last week so that may be why. Congrats to everyone who has been assigned - at least they are moving forward. We just moved house this week so we have been really busy - at least it is one less thing to have to do before we leave :biggrin: Cheers Suzanne The processing at the moment is a joke really. Mat jones has been waiting fir the same length of time as me(20months) he should be one of the first to get a co. It's gonna be interesting when WA release their list and see the allocation there. Hang on in there guys - your CO is on its way to you :hug: I was really worried the other week as well when I felt like the last one waiting to hear. They never make any sence but if they are not appearing to be doing it in date order???? Maybe everyone who gets transfered into cat 2, and then prioritised in that cat according to their skill. Surely their system will pick that up easy. Remember going back to those lists ages ago where they had top, priority, and what ever else it was......... maybe they are prioritising according to that list? Mind you they are a rule unto themselves so will do it the way they want! Just a thought..........................the speculation continues................... Hi Rach I don't think that is what they are doing either really. Becasue Matjones is the same occupation as us and we lodged May this year and got our CO yesterday. I agree with everyone, it isn't fair, they should process in date order and we feel very lucky to have our CO so quickly as we only lodged with DIAC 6 months ago. Ideally I wanted our's next year because of the baby so we were shocked to be one of the first ACT people to get a CO. Guest mackdmello Posted November 16, 2010 Share Posted November 16, 2010 it is good, at the frustating to see people after us, getting CO officers. congrats by the way for getting CO officer. we still haven't got any CO officers , i don't know why, but it is stupidty on part of DIAC for selecting randomly, then what is the use of submitting application so early. I agree mat jones should have a CO, I feel for him, and others in the same position! It is ridiculous that you have to wait that long at all when there are some who have been in the process for a short time and had no hicups, and have a CO! My main worry is when WA and the rest get their behinds in gear and release the SMP's cat 2 will get flooded! They better be hiring more CO's to cope! Maybe that is why the states are not releasing at the same time? Get a good batch of VIC, and ACT through..............then WA hopefully!!! Then the other states will follow staggered? Mine also says processing commenced back in 2009 - nothing else has changed except there is now an email listed on there saying my CO contacted me. I do feel like I am trespassing but hopefully one day soon I will be one of you! On application status everything is still required even though CO asked just for medicals, police and english for second applicant. Guest p1ug Posted November 17, 2010 Share Posted November 17, 2010 In case it is of interest/relevant to anyone - we were asked for new medicals, as old ones expired 19th Oct. Having heard of previous extensions for other people way back when, I asked if there was any chance of an extension, and our CO was able to extend by 6 months, although police checks only by 3 months; so we were being asked to confirm if we could enter Oz/validate by 19th April 2011; which would've been fantastic. Unfortunately we have already done our reckie trip and we haven't sold the house yet, so we had to decline which was really frustrating. So we are booking new meds (additional cost!!):mad: But if anyone else has recently expired previously front-loaded meds and is able to validate within 6 months, it might be worth bearing in mind, to save yourselves some money. We sent off for police checks 2 weeks ago so they should be back very soon and medicals are booked for Saturday!!!
