Calling All Brisbannites - October 2010 Meet-Up

The Next Brisbannites Meet Up....

Hey there,

With just 2 weeks until the next meet up we thought we would just send out a final reminder to everyone to have it in their diaries.

Time: 1pm

Place: Wynnum Esplanade Whale Water Park and Playground

Date: Saturday 23rd October 2010

Quite a few people travelled over to New Farm Park from the coast for the last meet up so we thought it only fair to have the next meet up a little closer to the sea.

There are bbq's there so if everyone brings a little bit of food with them just like last time we can all tuck in! We're really looking forward to it. Due to the very changeable weather at the moment (just like in the UK really!) we'll send an email nearer the time if we need to postpone. Again we'll also post this on PIO.

Hope to see everyone there,

Sharon & Matt

Jacob & Isobel

Hi all,

We didn't come to the last one but would love to meet you all at the next!

We (husband and I) moved here from Cambridgeshire at the begining of August and have been so busy settling into work and finding our feet we haven't had time to socialise...sad times!

Hi Becka, where abouts in Cambridgeshire do you come from, my wife and I used to be in Peterborough :)

Can't make the next one guys I am afraid, booked a little holiday to Melbourne and Adelaide for a week. We will be at the next one though.

Mel, the Roo sausages were great! :)

See you at the next one, Zoe will be working by then and hopefully I will have a job too. Fingers crossed we will be in our own place by then too so much closer in to the city.

Cheers

Craig & Zoe

Wow how spooky, I'm from Peterborough! We used to live in Leverington though (on the way to Wisbech) which is where the husband is from.

Its a funny old world,

Becka

Hey Guys,

Terry has confirmed that there is a full-blown Triathlon event at Wynnum Park next Saturday, so it's a no go I'm afraid as it will be absolutely jammed.

So, we'd like to propose an alternative venue. Whilst not coastal, as we would have liked, we thought that Rocks Riverside Park at Seventeen Miles Rocks would be good. The only reason we're suggesting it is that we've had a recommendation from one of the Bisbannittes and we haven't been to any of the other coastal parks yet. We're also proposing that we then flip the Wynnum meet to December.

Hope you're all in favour. Here is a link: Seventeen Mile Rocks | Brisbane southside | ourbrisbane.com

Any problems / doubts / concerns or even a thumbs up, then please let us know.

Hope to see you all there.

Matt & Sharon

We're fine thanks just getting to know our way around and sorting things out. The weather has been very changeable and good storm last night but nice to wake up the sun again. Husband already got job so I'm going to have to get some house hunting done.

Hello and welcome to the Brisbannittes. We are trying to arrange to meet up once a month but with Christmas just around the corner we were thinking that we would next meet up in late November / early December and then would start up again in January. The next meet up will be at Wellington Point on the coast and we will add you to our email list if you PM us your email address.

The meet ups we have done so far have been great fun and it is always nice to meet new people.

Hi we're from Grantham not far from Peterborough. We've missed this meet as we have only been here a week. We would love to know when you're planning another.

My husband and I and our daughters aged 7 and 14.

If you PM me your email address I will add you to the Brisbannittes email group. Have just put some info about the next meet on my reply to Bacardi (which is hopefully the above post) so just have a toot at that.

Hi Matt,

Great park, we went there for a bbq on our reccie and the kids loved the water play area.

Would love to be there, but not to be, maybe in the new year.

Have fun,

Shaz

Hey Shaz

It was fantastic, the kids spent so much time in the water and around the climbing frame. We are definitely going to have to go there again. Hopefully not too long til you can join us. Fingers and toes crossed.

me and a few friends used to frequent peterborough about 10 years ago and my mate even ended up marrying a girl from "up North".....

that was when they were building the clubs and even went to see "the Posh" play when Barry Fry was in charge i think !!

Its a nice place...from a distance....only kidding!:cool::biggrin:

The only good things abour P'town are the roads and rail links....so you can get out of there easily! Good old Barry Fry hey? He's still got his fingers in the pies there, don't think that's a good thing though.
