Guest MelW
Ok guys, your advice needed. All has been going really well, just seems to be ticking by, we have booked Accomadation & flights for our arrival into Brisbane in November, our house has just sold which is really good news (only took six weeks) but my question is, what has or does everyone else do with regards to this, the people who are buying our house are pushing to be in within 10 weeks, the chain involved is not a long one, so this seems like it could happen (may be jumping the gun a bit), this would take us till the end of September, which would mean us homeless for 5 weeks two days, we have looked at the renting market, and are really coming unstuck, we are a family of four, and so far have found no short term rentals. HELP, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am so stressed at the momeent and am feeling quite low with regards to all I am leaving behind. Thanks for reading this waffle.

We are lucky as we are keeping our house here and my brother is going to live in it. Are you shipping your stuff? If so, could you send it before you go when you need to leave your current house? All you would have with you is the suitcases etc that you will take on the plane. We are sending our stuff a month before we go as it is going to take around 8 weeks to get there, we will still be there before it. We will be living out of our suitcases for 4 weeks, washing and ironing as we go. You could stay at a travel lodge for a while if you can't get someone to take you in for a while. It is hard with kids but they love staying anywhere. Also could you change your flight and accommodation for earlier dates? Hope all goes well Sarah
Guest kimdownie
hi there, it may be expensive but, have you considered hiring a holiday caravan or cottage for the five weeks, you may not be too concerned about schooling for the kids, so you could use the opertunity to show the kids a bit of our country before you leave, visiting london and seeing the sites etc...thats what we are thinking of doing. I would imagine that as peak season will be over in september you may be able to get a good rate for 5 weeks. good luck Kim

ali
W came to an arrangement with our buyers - we exchanged contracts but didn't complete and they allowed us to stay for a few extra weeks - we would have payed them rent in necessary but it didn't come to that.
