Hi and welcome to PIO

I took my test 17 yrs ago. For myself it was a simple case of booking in a written test once I past that, booking in for a driving test. The person that takes you for your lessons also tests you as well. I took an 8 hour lesson (1 day) then the test at the end. Or you can book yourself in for a weekend course but that's normally done with a group of people.

If I remember rightly you can only sit your HR (heavy rigid (class 2)) once you hold that for a year you can sit for your HC Licence (Heavy combination (class 1)) then a yr later your MC licence (multi combination - Road train)

Take a look at the decca website they are the best trainers in Victoria

I have both an Australian MC and a class 1 in the UK so any questions just fire away.

Geoffrey
