Guest SQ777
Yep, make like a little booklet of ALL their acheivments, grades and attainment etc. My mum has done it for my siblings and myself.
ali
My sons teacher (year 2), did a folder with examples of his work and also the curriculum they had covered, plus a copy of his last school report. My daughter had just started high school, we took her intrim report and also her year 6 report. Ali

Guest jillanddarren
End of term reports are fine, we only took these [everything else came out in the container by which time they'd been in school 5 weeks]. Be honest - my son is dyslexic - the school have been extra quick in getting him assessed for extra help and instead of learning Japanese he gets the extra help that he needs from a fabulous teacher. In only 8 weeks he is improving and gaining confidence. Don't forget it is a difficult transition for any child - but they quickly make friends and settle in. We find the schools less formal than the UK - all the teachers introduce themselves on first name terms. Our kids are in state school and cannot fault - but private school is also a more affordable option out here too.
ali
My son has also benefited from the more 'relaxed' atmosphere of school although they have to refer to teachers by Mrs, Mr and Miss. My children are also in state education and my daughter will be going to state high school as in the area we live there are 3 with very good reputations. ali
Almost forgot - you have to take a copy of their immunisation records. I took my red book and they photocopied it. Ali
Guest jillanddarren
We are in Nerang/Gilston - all the schools seem very good round here. Although Helensvale near PacPines [as the locals call it] has a catchment area. Most others don't though. When I said schools relaxed I meant that the teachers introduce themselves to parents on 1st name terms [ obviously kids call them Mrs,MR etc] - hope I've cleared that up. If you need any info - let me know as Pacific Pines Varsity Lakes are not far away
