Hy

Here is one reason to leave this country, don't laugh it's a lot nearer the truth than the Government will admit. You will have to click the image to enlarge it.

BLOODY BRILLIANT... HOW RIGHT IS THAT, YUP... COME TO GOOD OLD ENGLAND AND SPOUNGE WHAT YOU CAN, I TRIED THAT ONCE WHEN I RETURNED FROM THE USA AFTER WORKING FOR 1 YEAR AS A CHILDRENS NANNY, BUT DID'NT GET A PENNY, AND I'M AS ENGLISH AS YOU CAN GET, WORKED ALL MY LIFE, AND PAID INTO EVERYTHING. Hmm.

Harsh, but fair and really, really sad that our lovely country has come to this.

You are so very right Jean, l did once love this country and there will always be a little bit of me here hoping that one day it will turn itself around again, it really is beautiful in many other ways but to be reduced to this is rotten really. Just feel now that the country l once loved is gone for good. Cant see it recovering in my lifetime - gonna take a couple of generations to bring it back

Anyone fancy starting a revolution? Lets just get outta here!

Totally agree, & thats why we are leaving to go to Australia! However I do despair for England as all the decent folk are leaving and it makes you wonder just what its going to be like in a few years when they've no skilled workers left 'cause they've all become so disillusioned that they've emigrated!

Guest old pom

A family of Poms recently moved in next door to us (we have a flat in Sydney and have just built a home for retirement in the Blue Mountains), so we did the Aussie thing and invited them over for a bbq. We got talking about their reasons for leaving the old country and coming here and they said "oh you know, the weather, better place to bring up kids etc, etc". But after a few drinks the real reasons for leaving came out and it was all the things that have been said on this thread.

There was a bit of an awkward moment when the guy started to cry as he talked about a lost country and how it was ok for the people who make the immigration rules because they're not the ones whose neighbourhoods get destroyed or end up living next door to people who hate you and your way of life. It's so sad, lets hope it never gets that bad here!

Hope you all find happiness in Oz.

Yeah, thanks Old Pom. The Australian Gov could do with reading some of these threads so they don't make the same mistakes as UK.
