Guest Guest26110
Hi all, I was born in Australia and now live in England. My children have citizenship via descent and have a British and Australian passport. I was wondering if one of my children were to marry an English person here in England, would that person be able to move to Australia if my child was to sponsor them (spouse sponsor). Thanks for any replies.
ali
Yes they'd be able to apply for a spouse visa, but may still be expected to prove the longevity of the relationship
Peach
They wouldn't even need to get married, living together for twelve months is enough..
The Yuills
It was also explained to me that if my children stayed in UK (they have citizenship by descent) and married a British Citizen..then their children would not have to right to claim Citizenship by descent. That is how I understood it anyway. But now we are in OZ it does not matter.
