ACS Assessment Review of Assessment

This is what the ACS are saying:

Applicants who hold, or are about to hold, an assessment outcome letter with an ASCO code issued by the ACS prior to 1 July 2010, are advised to apply for a review of assessment outcome and follow application for review process that will be publicised on the ACS website once the framework, in which new SOL would be applied, is introduced by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC);

Up to and including 30 June 2010, assessment outcome letters will be issued in ASCO codes only; and From and including 1 July 2010, assessment outcome letters will be issued in ANZSCO codes only.

I do hope they don't expect recent +ve assessment receivers to have to pay for a review. I received mine on the 4th May and within a week all GSM's were suspended. Now I have to wait for the ASCO to ANZSCO transfer.

More waiting...............

My view is that traditional web development has crossed over into 'cloud' based web development. The trend (in the UK anyway) is that customers require software applications that users can create and share 'real-time' data which is delivered over the web via browsers.

.NET is not just being used primarly for 'web developement' anymore but for software development delivered through the web. I hope that when my recently received +ve assessment from the ACS is reviewed, that they recognise that you can't just pidgeon hole .NET into web developlement.

I would say currently I am working on a higher percentage of online web applications/software than traditional dynamic websites.

In my assessment letter the ACS had categorise my experience as 'Software Developer' so maybe they do realise what I have just said.

I'm completely with you on that AlienFeet. The problem is that DIAC or ACS might not see it that way. Hopefully, ACS knows what they're doing.

Hi Alienfeet

I can see that you transfer your ASCO code to ANZSCO code (Software Developer maybe).

I've a same case as yours i.e. I hold a 2231-79 .NET Technologies Specialist ASCO code assessment which was assessed on 8th June 2010.

Now that I want to transfer my existing ASCO code to ANZSCO Code (Analyst Programmer), I need to know:

1. Can I still apply for the review of my assessment as it's been over two months (I don't mind paying for new application but as the Immigration dept. has clearly stated that the new code assessment should be based on previous assessment not a new application).

2. Which form do I need to use to do the review of my existing assessment to match to new ANZSCO code assessment? And do I need to provide them my previous assessment (.Net Technology Specialist)?

Also wondering as to did your application be moved into Priority Group 3 as I can see that you received your new assessment sometime in August?

I will really appreciate if you can answer my questions.

Thank you

At ACS (Australian Computer Society) - Membership, Professionalism and Leadership for ICT Professionals and the ICT Community you can download the form Application for Revalidation of a Suitable PASA

I believe that's the one.

Hi Mirob

Thanks for the quick reply, i'll have a look at this form now.

Do you have any idea if my re assessment application will be considered by Acs and immi dept. a new application as i'll be applying for re assessment after two months of my previous assessment?

Because immi dept. has clearly stated that to come to priority group 3, your assessment should be baaed on previous assessment.

What i'm worried for is that my application doesn't need to be considered by ACS as a new application?

I will look forward for the suggestion

Thank you

I don't know what the difference between review and re-validation is but you can pretty much re-apply for a skills assessment and if the application is made based on exactly the same documents as your first application, it will be suitable for an update of your existing visa application with DIAC.

I'm referring to this document: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/acs-skills-assessment-review.pdf
