Petals
Victoria Plenty of places to get away to. Just been up to Yarrawonga for the weekend, hardly any traffic on the road, great meals, Parkers Pies in Rutherglen. Going up to the high country in winter if you like skiing, going in the summer if you like walking etc. Living on the Peninsula, beaches, friendly people, Red Hill who could not like Red Hill. Eating out at the Wineries, Ten Minutes by Tractor, etc etc. Balnarring Beach, unfortunately discovered. Westernport, scenery, small towns, green wedges and the train line. Fishing if you like fishing on Westernport Bay. Boardwalk at Hastings. Country to city 60 mins. Phillip Island. Port Fairy Grampians Little Desert Hang gliding off Mount Buffalo, we only watch. Had world championships there. Gippsland Lakes

Bobj
There aren't any other States, there's only Victoria, why who have you been talking to? Don't listen, especially to that lot up North, they know nothing I tell you, the South rules. There are 4 states in the eastern part of Australia...Qld, cream rises to the top NSW, known as Mexico, because it is south of the border Vic, could be called Guetemala, because it is further south than NSW And Tassie, left to float on its own... Cheers, Bobj. Guest nottinghampom
pros: Minutes from about 15 beaches, everyone with it's own style and character Weather all year, not too hot in summer and rarely properly cold in winter Very cheap golf! Quality of the food World class holiday destinations only a few hours away No traffic Good people on the whole Much lower percetange of idiots per head of population than UK Cons Expensive Food ( but if clever you can work around it) Current Exchange rate Booze quality and price (i miss my old peculiar) TV - especially Country WA Adverts! Local customer service around Geraldton - there's so much demand for certain services they can treat you like crap as they know another customer will be along in 5 minutes. Just about everything that's good about Gero (and WA in general) is life affecting and all the negative stuff is very minor and easy to live with in the big scheme of things. Guest JOHN ODonnell
keep em coming...great to hear the real time live comparisons....helps us to identify where we might want to be !
Guest nottinghampom
Yeah Gero is Geraldton, i'm turning into a local  It;s not for everyone as it is a bit quiet but if you're not that fussed about nightlife and you like exploring wild places then it's great. And whilst it is windy it's not as bad as people make out, when it's 40 degrees and calm you're crying out for the wind.

Guest GThomas
Brisbane, Queensland:- Pro's No real crime - compared to East London. Weather - hot hot hot humid humid humid, I kinda love it. 1hr and it's the outback 1hr and your climbing a steep hill , I think they call them mountains here :biglaugh: People - weird, but friendly enough. Con's Appaling roads - can't say how many times I have been ejected from my motorbike seat due to rubbish roads. Drunk Queenslanders - they cannot handle their drink. Queenslanders - my god, they can be sooooo extremely thick at times, no wonder they are called bannana benders. Over zealous police - basic revenue raisers. TV - soooooo many adverts and then its American rubbish (it never used to be like this) Other than that, fit in and enjoy the experience.
