Please can anyone advise me on which airline to use that would be best for my 8 year old son visiting me for July/August in his school hols. He will be flying from Manchester to Brisbane. He has never travelled on his own before although he says he is excited and looking forward to it.........as for me I am a bag of nerves already!!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

How exciting for you both, I understand your nerves though... he will be treated like a VIP... I would have said, Singapore, Qantas or British Airways in this instance, have a great time. Susie:wubclub:

I have got to say Singapore Airlines, my daughter has flown as an unnacompanied minor with them 4 times and she was treated like royalty. She said they tend to put the minors together on the flight and they have a riot. The hostesses cant do enough for them and even when it comes to seating they will not sit them next to men etc, they are brilliant.:wubclub:

My vote goes to Qantas, they have flown my kids as unaccompanied minors many times over the years both international and domestic and have been superb.

we used Quantus to send my son to stay with my sister for his summer hols about 3 years ago and they were brilliant, and they didn't charge extra for the sevice, unlike some airlines

We've flown unaccompanied minors with both Singpores and Quantas. Kids preferred Quantas, as they were put up to First Class on last leg of their trip - so arrived refreshed in London.

They were kept safe at all times, however felt they were restrcited from doing too much.
